Folder Printing is available in many sizes, colors, and styles. Below are some of the commonly used pocket folder printing terms to help you determine the right print products for your requirements.
Presentation Folder A booklet designed with inside pockets to include letters and literature. Pocket folders provide a great way to present sales or contract information in a professional manner. The folders organize your information and create a packet that adds a perceived value to all of the flyers, letters, and information that your are presenting.
Standard presentation folders 9x12 are the most common size used by all types of businesses. This size holds standard 8 ½ x 11 letter head and literature in its 4 inch pockets. Business card slits can come on one or both pockets.
Legal Size 9 x 14 ½ size pocket folders are used by attorneys, real estate brokers, mortgage brokers, and title companies. They come with two 4 inside pockets and a business card slit on the right pocket.
½ size folders These are sized at 5 Ύ x 8 Ύ. They are good as a small booklet size. The pockets are 3 and the right side does has a slit for a business card.
Mini Size Its dimensions are 4 x 9 tall. It has two 3 pockets for information or plane tickets. It will fit into a #10 size envelope.
Pockets the pockets are die cut and glued at the bottom of the inside flaps of your presentation folder. They generally are 3 or 4 inches high allowing for a place to insert your paper documents in an organized fashion.
Business Card Slits Two slits are cut in each pocket allowing you to insert your business card on either side of the inside of the folder. When your customer opens the packet, he will see your business card professionally positioned providing all of your contact information.
Glossy Card Stock this grade of paper is made of a heavy paper weight. The paper has a glossy sheen which works well when using metallic foil stamping. The colorful foils adhere well and provide a high quality look.
Linen Card Stock Generally a 80 or 90 pound paper stock which provides a professional business folder. Some like this more subtle business appearance. It is less glitzy than the dazzling imprint on glossy card stock.
Printing versus Foil Stamping Both look good. Printing is more expensive on small orders of 1000 or less. Hot Foil stamping provides a professional metallic foil look on the card stock of your choice. If you require multicolor on your folder it generally needs to be printed. 4 color printing has become quite inexpensive in volumes of 1000 or more.
